Friland Økologi, the world’s biggest producer of organic meat, takes animal welfare seriously. For instance, their cows have 24/7 access to fresh air and are free to roam the open pastures as they please.
To document this freedom, we equipped the roaming cows with small cameras that take snapshots every three minutes. As it turns out, cows are pretty amazing photographers.
The cows captured stunning images of open fields, birds, and other grazing cows. The best photos were submitted to TV2 who agreed to show them in the highly popular “weather photo of the day” segment on the daily weather report.
1.48 million viewers watched as the photos aired. At least 4 photos hit primetime, solidifying Friland’s position as a champion of animal welfare to consumers all over Denmark.
